The deposed Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, made his first official appearance since his removal by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf at the grand Quranic recitation ceremony organized by the family of the late Sheikh Khalifa Isyaka Rabiu.
The ceremony, held under the leadership of Khalifa Sheikh Muhd Nafi’u Isyaku Rabiu, took place at the Sheikh Muhammadu Rabi’u Mosque in Goron Dutse.
The event marked the completion of 3,000 Quranic recitations and included prayers for peace, stability, and divine intervention for the nation’s problems, particularly economic hardships.
Saturday’s appearance was the Emir’s first since returning to Kano and resettling at the Nassarawa mini palace.
Hundreds of Kano residents turned out to greet the Emir as he made his way through the city, with crowds lining the streets to acknowledge Bayero.
It is also noteworthy that the reinstated Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II, made his first official outing on Thursday at the Kano Government House, where he attended a state-held event.
Emir Sanusi also moved from the Gidan Rumfa palace to the State Government House to meet with the newly appointed second-class Emirs of Gaya, Rano, and Karaye.
