The Oluwo of Iwo land, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, on Sunday, stated that of all the countries of the world, only Saudi Arabia is not experiencing economic challenges at the moment, saying this is because they place all their affairs in God’s hands and trust in God.

He noted that God is the only panacea to the economic challenges confronting Nigeria and charged President Bola Tinubu, governors, senators, all political leaders and citizens in the country to resign to God for solutions.

The monarch, who made the remark at a reception organised in his honour by the Alu-sunnah, an Islamic organisation, on his return from the holy land of Mecca, however, maintained that President Bola Tinubu must not relent in fixing the country at this critical period.

According to him, “Today, there is no country in the world where there is no economic challenges except in Saudi Arabia. This is so because they place all their affairs in God’s hands and trust in God. The president should also do the same. Even the governors, senators, all political leaders, everybody must resign to God.

“The myriad of challenges facing the country required spiritual solution and I have the conviction that the nation’s future would change for the better if all political leaders at the national, state and local level seek the face of God.

“Though I never doubted the good intention of Tinubu to fix Nigeria, but at the same time, we need the divine hands of God to prevail in accelerating the fixing of the country “.

Earlier, the Executive Secretary, Muslim Umah of Southwest Nigeria, MUSWEN, Prof. Muslim Yaya however described the monarch as a good ambassador of Islamic religion within the traditional institution and outside the shores of Nigeria, especially during his pilgrimage to Mecca.

He pointed out that Oluwo has dignified himself among the Obas, describing his exemplary roles during the Hajj period in Saudi Arabia as outstanding.

According to him, “the entire Umah here is uniting behind Oluwo, a traditional ruler who believes in the tenet of Islam and oneness of God.”

“I call on all Umah to unite together and live together in peace even with the people of other religions but we must not be cowards to do what Allah has commanded us.”

In his own remark, an Islamic scholar, Dr Dawood Amoo Alaga, described Islam as a religion of peace and charged Muslims not to relent in preaching Islamic doctrines to reshape the lives of the distressed beings in society.
