Former National Organizing Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Abubakar Mustapha, has defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State.
He announced his resignation from the party through a letter to the Chairman of Gubuchi ward in Makarfi Local Government Area of the state dated July 15th, 2024.
According to the statement made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Sunday, he explained that he voluntarily resigned from his PDP membership for personal reasons.
Mustapha, who was also one of the longest Head of the Civil Service in the state, appreciated the PDP for allowing him to serve in various capacities since he joined the party.
Also, a former Commissioner in Kaduna State during the PDP-led government, Alhaji Rabi’u Bako; and a former Permanent Secretary of the Kaduna State civil service, Suleiman Sambo, left the PDP.
Bako, who also tendered his resignation letter addressed to the ward chairman of Shaba ward in Kaduna North local government, dated July 19th, 2024, gave reasons for leaving the party.
Part of the reasons he noted were lack of focus and direction, bickerings, as well as integrity among the reasons he had to dump the party.
In the case of Suleiman Sambo, who also submitted his letter of resignation to the PDP chairman of Gubuchi ward in Makarfi local government area, dated July 15th, 2024, said he left the party for personal reasons.
