Bauchi govt releases N323m for primary healthcare service delivery

Bauchi State Task Force on Primary Healthcare on Tuesday said that the state government has released the sum of  N323 million into the State PHC MoU Account as part of its 2024 MoU contribution for the delivery of primary healthcare services.

To this end, the Primary Healthcare Task Force promised a high-level oversight as part of ongoing efforts towards achieving universal healthcare coverage in the state.

The state’s Deputy Governor who is the chairman of the Task Force, Rt. Hon. Mohammed Auwal Jatau made this known at the quarter two 2024 meeting of the State Task Force held at the Conference Hall of his office at the Governor’s Office, Bauchi.

Auwal Jatau noted that the meeting would allow members of the committee to discuss extensively the challenges related to healthcare services, as well as work out modalities of ensuring accountability and high-level oversight on primary healthcare service delivery.

According to him, “The administration of my principal, His Excellency, Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed is committed towards providing the necessary resources and support for delivery of healthcare services across all levels through initiating laudable programmes and investments that will improve the health condition of our people.”

The Deputy Governor, therefore, appreciated members of the State Task Force Committee, particularly the traditional leaders and the development partners for their tireless efforts in assisting the state government to deliver on its mandate.

Also speaking, the Co-chair of the Task Force, the Emir of Dass, Alhaji Usman Bilyaminu Othman reiterated the unwavering commitment of traditional institutions towards supporting primary healthcare activities for improved service delivery.

On their part, development partners at the meeting applauded the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed for the huge investment made in the healthcare sector and pledged their continued support and partnership to achieve the desired objectives as contained in a statement by Muslim Lawal, Special Assistant (Media), Deputy Governor’s Office, Bauchi.
