Residents of Mijinbir local government area of Kano state ignored the 24-hour curfew imposed by the state government and staged a two day protest against hunger.
It will be recalled that Governor Abba Yusuf had on Thursday evening declared a 24-hours curfew in the state following hoodlums wielding different weapons hijacked the protest.
However, it was gathered that the protesters displayed placards carrying different inscriptions to convey their messages.
According to a resident in the area, Aminu Yahya who spoke to press on phone, disclosed that the protesters conducted themselves peacefully around the local government headquarters.
He stated that the protesters were demanding for reversal of fuel subsidy removal, among others.
