Ekiti govt approves appointment of new traditional rulers for Araromi, Iyemero, Osi-Ekiti communities

Ekiti State government has approved and ratified the appointment of new traditional rulers for three communities in the state.

The Commissioner for Information, Taiwo Olatunbosun in a statement said the approval was given during the state executive meeting which was presided over by Governor Biodun Oyebanji.

According to him, the government approved veteran journalist and broadcaster, Stephen Adegboyega Alabi from the Arubiojo ruling house as the new Olosi of Osi-Ekiti in Ido/Osi Local Government Area of the state.

He also added that council approved the appointment of Prince (Ambassador) Bayode Akinsanmi Ayeni from the Onitedo ruling house as the Olu of lyemero-Ekiti in Ikole Local Government Area of the state.

The statement revealed that the appointment of Prince Babalola Adebomi Odimulele ruling house was approved as the new Alararomi of Araromi-Ekiti in Ijero Local Government Area of the state.

The commissioner said the appointment followed the provision of the Chiefs Law (2012) of the state, adding that “the State Executive Council authorised the publication of the legal notice of all three appointments in the state government Gazette.”

The statement reads: “An accomplished broadcaster, veteran journalist, Public Relations Consultant and legal Practitioner, Prince Alabi holds LL.B from the Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, BL from the Nigeria Law School, Abuja and LL.M from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife.

“He also holds a National Diploma (OND) from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism.

“The Olosi traditional stool became vacant on August 5, 2021 following the demise of Oba Adewole Agunbiade from the Akombo ruling house.

“Prince Bayode Ayeni obtained B.A (Hons) in International Relations from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, M.A Political Science from Columbia University, New York, NY, Diploma in Diplomacy from Columbia University, New York, NY, and Diploma in Manpower Budgeting from the Royal Institute of Public Administration, London, England.

“He succeeds Oba Ebenezer Agboola Ogungbemi from llisa ruling house who passed away on April 23, 2021.

“Prince Adebomi Odimulele succeeds Oba Caleb Adeoye from the Falomo ruling house who passed away on November 18, 2021.”
