The Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, has given formal recognition and royal blessings to the oba-elect of Alaye-Aba of Aiyepe-Ijebu in Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State, Oba Michael Kolawole Adekoya.

The ceremony took place at the Awujale’s palace recently where dignitaries from all walks of life were in attendance.

At the programme, representative of the Awujale, Oba Lawrence Jaiyeoba Adebanjo, the Orimolusi of Ijebu-Igbo advised Oba Adekoya to join other monarchs in order to move Ijebuland to greater heights, adding that his accomplishment in life and his contributions to the development of the town are enough to qualify him for the stool.

He further said that the crowd that graced the occasion on a working day showed that is a man of the people.

Orimolusi further said that Oba Adekoya should continue to be a good listener to his people and not be biased in decision making, adding that fair in his judgment and administration will move the community forward.

He promised that other royal fathers in Ijebuland will continue to partner with other newly-elected monarchs and stakeholders.

While congratulating the new monarch, the Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, Oba Abdulrasak  Adenugba advised the monarch to use his position to foster unity and economic development of Aba-Aiyepe community.

He advised him to cooperate with all the religious leaders in his domain and should not let down those who stood by him.

The Obiri of Aiyepe commended the new mornach and told him to always seek advice before taking decisions crucial to the entire community.

He maintained that his priority is to unite the people so as to bring development to the community.

He enjoined the people to rally round him to enable him to discharge his responsibilities as a monarch and forge ahead to meet the challenges of the future.

Adekoya further thanked the kingmakers for bestowing the position of Alaye-Aba of Aiyepe on him.

“I thank all those responsible for my selection, kingmakers, ruling houses, local government and the Ogun State government for approving my selection.

He also thanked the royal families, Alaye-Ana Community Development Association for their support.
