I have been feeling some aches and pains in my sides including difficulty in passing urine for some days now. I want to know if the problem is caused by Gallstones.

Gallstones, also known as cholelithiasis, may sometimes be asymptomatic, meaning they do not cause any noticeable symptoms. However, when symptoms do occur, they can include: Sudden and intense pain in the upper right or middle of the abdomen. This pain can last from several minutes to a few hours and may radiate to the back or right shoulder blade.

Nausea and vomiting often accompany the pain and can be severe. Symptoms like bloating, gas, and discomfort in the abdomen, particularly after eating fatty meals. Yellowing of the skin and eyes, which occurs if a gallstone blocks the bile duct.

Dark urine and pale stools can also indicate a blockage in the bile ducts. Fever and chills may occur if a gallstone causes an infection, such as cholecystitis  (inflammation of the gallbladder). If you experience any of these symptoms, especially severe abdominal pain, jaundice, or fever, it is important to seek medical attention promptly.
