A few months before the Osun state local government elections by the state Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC), the state chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) unveiled its candidates for the poll in 2025 on Friday.
While affirming their candidature at the party secretariat located around Bicket area of Osogbo, the Chairman of the Forum of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) who doubles as the state chairman of the party, Dr. Tosin Odeyemi remarked, “We are here to unveil and affirm our candidates to the whole world; those that are fit to contest this forthcoming local government election in Osun state.
“Our candidates are people of great repute, we are fielding people that are residents of each local council because they have known their people’s needs and how to solve them.
“We urge the political class in the state to allow credible, free and fair election.
“Secondly , We as a political party, New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), have put every necessary machinery in place in our newly refurbished party secretariat to enhance smooth and robust running.
“Effective administrative efforts are in place for preparation towards the forthcoming local government election stipulated for year 2025, and strategising ahead of the forthcoming gubernatorial election in 2026, as you can testify to it by yourself, everything is in order. ”
The chairman further hinted that, the inauguration and opening of Obokun, Boripe, Olaoluwa, Ifelodun, Ila , Ifedayo and Oriade local governments areas of the state offices are to be done by next week.
