FOR gospel singer and songwriter Adebowale Samuel, also known as Dotvocalz music has always been a calling rather than just a career. His journey began as a young member of his church choir, where he often backed up during ministrations.

“I saw a vision of a multitude praising God,” Dotvocalz recalls, “and I was leading the worship through songs.” This profound experience led him to organize his first praise program in 2011, which drew over 1,200 attendees, marking the beginning of his journey as a gospel artist.

Dotvocalz’s passion for music, coupled with his deep faith, has been the driving force behind his career. From his debut album, ‘King of Kings’, released in 2014, to hit singles like ‘Unstoppable God’ and ‘Jehovah Sabaoth’, his music has touched lives across the globe.

“I don’t just want to entertain; I want to lead people into God’s presence.” His creative process is deeply spiritual, often involving retreats to the beach or solitary moments in his room where he prays and listens for divine inspiration.

Despite his success, Samuel’s journey has not been without challenges. Financial difficulties, spiritual battles, and moments of doubt have all tested his resolve. However, Dotvocalz emains steadfast, attributing his resilience to his faith. “Prayer and fasting have been my anchor,” he says. “Whenever I face obstacles, I turn to God for strength and direction.” His perseverance has paid off, with each new release further establishing him as a significant figure in gospel music.

One of the key aspects of Samuel’s growth as an artist has been his commitment to remaining true to his message. “I don’t compromise on the gospel,” he affirms. “My music must always glorify God and uplift the listener.” This unwavering dedication to his mission has garnered him a loyal following, both within Nigeria and internationally. Fans appreciate not only the quality of his music but also the sincerity of his message. “When people listen to my songs, I want them to encounter God,” Samuel says. “That’s my ultimate goal.”

As his influence continues to grow, Samuel remains focused on his vision. He frequently speaks about the importance of staying connected to one’s spiritual roots, especially in the music industry, where distractions are plentiful. “It’s easy to lose sight of your purpose,” he cautions.

“But for me, staying in constant communion with God keeps me grounded.” This connection to his faith is evident in every aspect of his work, from the lyrics of his songs to the way he conducts himself in public and private.

Looking back on his journey, Samuel is grateful for the lessons he has learned and the people who have supported him along the way. “I wouldn’t be here without the prayers and encouragement of my family, friends, and church community,” he acknowledges. “They’ve been my backbone, especially during the tough times.”

This sense of gratitude also extends to his fans, whom he sees as an integral part of his ministry. “Every testimony I hear about how my music has impacted someone’s life is a reminder of why I do this,” Samuel shares.

As he moves forward, Samuel is excited about what the future holds. He has several projects in the pipeline, including a new album that promises to take his music to even greater heights. “God is still revealing new things to me,” he says.

“There’s so much more I want to do, and I’m trusting Him to lead the way.” His ambition is not just to produce hit songs but to create a lasting legacy that will inspire future generations of gospel artists. “I want my music to stand the test of time,” he declares. “Not for my glory, but for God’s.”

In reflecting on his journey, Samuel emphasizes the importance of faith, hard work, and patience. “Nothing happens overnight,” he notes. “It takes years of dedication and a lot of prayer to get where you want to be.”

He encourages aspiring gospel musicians to stay true to their calling and not to be swayed by the allure of fame or fortune. “Focus on the message,” he advises. “Let God use you to touch lives, and everything else will fall into place.”

As he continues to evolve as an artist, one thing remains constant: his desire to glorify God through his music. “This is what I was born to do,” Samuel concludes. “And as long as I have breath, I will keep singing His praises.”
