Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Kalu on Friday, congratulated a Nigerian-American military officer, Kelechi Ndukwe on his promotion to the rank of Navy Captain in the United States Navy.
Ndukwe, the first Nigerian-American to command a US warship is a native of Item in Bende Federal Constituency of Abia State which the Deputy Speaker represents at the National Assembly.
Hon. Kalu in a statement commended Navy Captain Ndukwe for his resilience and consistency.
He said that Ndukwe has made his hometown, Item, Abia, and Nigeria proud with his commitment and dedication to duty as well as his remarkable achievements so far.
The Deputy Speaker wished Ndukwe continued success as he reached new heights in his distinguished career.
