The Lagos State Government has extended its work-from-home policy for state workers for an additional three months.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu approved the extension, which was announced in a circular signed by the state’s Head of Service, Bode Agoro, on Wednesday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that this policy initially came into effect on February 28, when Governor Sanwo-Olu directed that workers would work remotely on certain days to mitigate the impact of the fuel subsidy removal on state employees.

Under the policy, workers on grade levels 01 to 14 were permitted to work from home for two days a week, while those on grade levels 15 to 17 could work from home one day a week.

In the circular issued on Wednesday, Sanwo-Olu noted that the policy had positively influenced workers’ productivity across the state’s ministries, departments, and agencies.

The extension of the work-from-home arrangement officially began on September 4.
