The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecast thunderstorms and rainfall across the country from Wednesday to Friday.
In its weather outlook released on Tuesday, NiMet reported that thunderstorms are likely over parts of Borno, Adamawa, Taraba, Yobe, Katsina, Sokoto, and Kaduna States on Wednesday morning.
Later in the afternoon and evening, thunderstorms are expected in Kano, Borno, Katsina, Adamawa, Kaduna, Taraba, Zamfara, Kebbi, and Jigawa States.

For the North Central region, NiMet predicted morning thunderstorms in parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Nasarawa, and Niger States, with further storms in the afternoon across the FCT, Nasarawa, Benue, Kogi, Niger, and Kwara States.
In the southern region, thunderstorms are anticipated in the morning over Oyo, Osun, Ekiti, Ogun, Ondo, Lagos, Edo, Delta, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom States, followed by intermittent rain later in the day in Enugu, Ebonyi, Abia, Anambra, Edo, Ekiti, Oyo, Rivers, Cross River, Delta, and Akwa Ibom States.
In the northern region, morning thunderstorms are expected in parts of Taraba and Adamawa States, with further storms predicted later in the day for Kano, Kaduna, Bauchi, Jigawa, Katsina, Kebbi, Adamawa, and Taraba States.
For North Central, morning rains are expected in Plateau and Benue States, with afternoon thunderstorms in the FCT, Nasarawa, Kogi, Niger, Kwara, and Benue States.
In the southern cities, morning rains are forecast for Enugu and Anambra States, with cloudy skies expected in the morning and thunderstorms in the afternoon for inland areas, along with intermittent rain over coastal cities.
NiMet advised residents to avoid flood-prone areas, warning of the high risk of urban flooding in major cities due to heavy rainfall.
