Yoruba Afenifere Youth Organisation of Nigeria (YAYON), has pleaded with Nigerians to exercise little patience by continuing to support the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, assuring that the measures taken so far by the  government to address the inherited problems would yield desirable returns in the long run.

YAYON, with membership drawn from all the states in the South West Zone of Nigeria, including Edo, Delta, Kwara and Kogi states, made the call in a communiqué issued and signed by its Leader, Comrade Eric Oluwole at the end of its meeting in Lagos, copy of which was made available to newsmen.

It noted that the facts remained that the current hardship being experienced, and tackled in the country was a carry-over from the immediate and past administrations in the country.

This was just as the Yoruba group, in its 9-point communiqué, observed that some ministers and other government officials in the President Tinubu administration were not performing, but drawing back its record of successes, saying that it was compiling the list of the affected ministers and officials, and would recommend that they be fired from their offices soonest.

“We members of the YAYON drawn from all the states in the South West Zone of Nigeria, Edo, Delta, Kwara and Kogi States begs Nigerians to exercise little patience by continuing to support the administration of His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.

“We are confident that the measures taken so far, and being introduced by this Government to address the inherited problems will yield desirable returns in the long run to revitalise the Nigerian economy, and turn our country once again to a pride of all citizens.

“We appreciate the fact that the hardship being experienced in the country is a carry-over from the immediate past administration, arising from problems which had accumulated over the years under successive administrations.

“The present government only inherited the problem, which it has been trying to tackle,” YAYON said.

The group, while further pleading with Nigerians on the current hardship in the country, flayed the recent protest “where some presumed protesters in the North waved the Russian flags on Nigerian soil,” saying that this appeared “a signal against the government and people of this country.”

According to YAYON, President Tinubu has since he assumed office on May 29, 2024, has been facing a lot of challenges, alleging that some elements in his government were collaborating with saboteurs to jeopardize his government, especially as it affected the economic situation in Nigeria.

It, however, noted that the “president is a human being like us and he cannot see Nigeria going backwards, warning this group of people, and any others in the Tinubu Administration, who it said had a hidden agenda to take Nigeria backwards because of their personal interest, to desist.
