Ahead of the governorship poll scheduled for this Saturday in Edo State, the United Kingdom (UK) chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged Edo people to vote en masse for the party’s candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for the complete transformation of the state.
The party chapter made the call in a statement issued by its spokesperson, Tunde Ajisola, a copy of which was made available to newsmen on Wednesday. The statement emphasized that Senator Okpebholo’s candidacy represents the Renewed Hope mantra for the people of Edo State.
According to Ajisola, the APC’s manifesto focuses on driving sustainable development, empowering the youth, revitalizing the economy, and improving the state’s infrastructure.
Additionally, the APC UK chapter stated that the party’s manifesto outlines a clear path toward complete economic transformation, job creation, investment in agriculture, and support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to boost Edo’s economy.
The party’s spokesperson also assured that Okpebholo’s administration, upon assuming office as the Executive Governor of the state, would prioritize access to quality education and healthcare services for all, ensuring that no one is left behind.
Ajisola said it is the determination of the APC UK chapter “to ensure that Senator Monday Okpebholo’s administration replicates the ongoing infrastructure development at the federal level in Edo State.”

“Edo people have a date with destiny this Saturday, and as a party ready to impact the lives of the people, we are committed to building and maintaining roads, energy infrastructure, and public amenities to improve the quality of life for the people of Edo.
“The election this Saturday in Edo State is a critical moment for the future of the state, and Senator Monday Okpebholo is the candidate with the vision, integrity, and leadership skills to bring about this ‘Renewed Hope’ for Edo,” he said.
“We urge all registered voters to support this transformative agenda by voting for Senator Okpebholo and the APC to ensure effective governance, transparency, accountability, and empowerment of citizens to actively participate in the governance process,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the South-South Caucus of the APC UK, Dr. Cal Amayo, has also urged voters in Edo State to exercise their civic rights properly and conduct themselves well to ensure victory for the APC and its candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo.
“The votes of the Edo people must count to effect the positive change that the people of the state desire,” Amayo said.
