The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has ordered the immediate redeployment of the Commissioners of Police for Rivers State Command, Delta State Command, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, and other commands.
This was stated in a press release made available to newsmen in Abuja on Thursday by the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
The statement indicated that the redeployment of the senior officers is part of an effort to strategically position a police force that is well-equipped for effective policing in the country.

According to the release, “the order includes the redeployment of CP Olatunji Disu from Rivers State Command to FCT Abuja; CP Abaniwonda Olufemi from Delta State Command to Rivers State Command; and CP Peter Opara from FCT Abuja to Delta State Command.”
Additionally, following the approval of the Police Service Commission, the Inspector-General of Police has also appointed four new Commissioners of Police for the Abia, Lagos, Ebonyi, and Akwa Ibom State Commands.
The new appointments include CP Danladi Nda to Abia State Command; CP Olanrewaju Ishola Olawale to Lagos State Command; CP Anthonia Adaku Uche-Anya to Ebonyi State Command; and CP Festus Eribo to Akwa Ibom State Command.
The statement emphasised that these appointments reflect the mission of the Inspector-General of Police to strategically reposition the Police Force and ensure the maximum utilization of available human resources.
The IGP urged the new Commissioners of Police to diligently perform their duties and adopt innovative measures to address security challenges in their respective areas of responsibility. He also encouraged them to engage with the police reform plans, which are aimed at advancing the progress of the Nigeria Police Force and the growth of the country in general.
