THE Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT) has stressed the importance of observing tahajjud (vigil).
The organisation’s Chief Missioner, Imam Moruf Abdul-Azeez Onike, described tahajjud as a way to seek divine solution to life’s challenges and an opportunity to connect with Allah.
He stated this last Friday at a joint tahajjud organised by the group for its members in Lagos, Ogun, and Cotonou.
Imam Abdul-Azeez Onike said, “Joint tahajjud is unique in that it provides an opportunity for members to connect spiritually with their Creator. It is also a platform where believers seek divine solutions to life’s challenges. I, therefore, encourage participants to take full advantage of the night of prayers.”
The special prayer session, which was held at the Lagos State Secretariat Mosque, Alausa-Ikeja, with the theme, ‘Surely, I am Very Near (Qur’an 2:186)’, also featured a lecture by Sheikh Salman Abdul-Majeed Alawiye Alawaye.
The night began with an opening du’a by Imam Uthman Jaji, the missioner of Lagos Zone 1. This was followed by special prayers led by Imam AbdulLateef Bello, Deputy Chief Missioner of NASFAT.
Earlier, the chairman of the Joint Tahajjud Planning Committee, Alhaji Mustapha Alabi, assured the members and guests of smooth logistics and security.
“NASFAT remains dedicated to fostering spiritual growth, unity and community development through activities like the joint tahajjud. The society continues to promote a blend of spirituality and service to humanity, in line with its core mission,” Alhaji Alabi said.
