The last three months of the year are usually Nigeria’s creative arts season, packed with cultural events, awards, stage plays, concerts and book readings. A new entrant has joined the list.

THE festival bug continues to spread nationwide as another premium business and entertainment event joins the growing list.

The Delta Festival (Delfest 2024) will be held from November 22 to 24 at The Dome Event Centre, Opanam Road, Asaba. It will be a mix of business, entertainment, and youth development.

The founder and director, Ethemena Raphael Obrike, explained that talent development is at the heart of Delfest, which has a training platform for youths in tech innovation, filmmaking, and music production.

He said, “Delfest is a business and cultural destination for all forward-looking enterprises to come and invest in Delta State, the new frontier for business growth. With over six million vibrant residents in an oil-rich state like Delta, you can’t go wrong with your business investment decision. That’s why we want leading CEOs to look the way of Delta, with Delfest providing the window of opportunity.

“Delfest is a fine mix of business, entertainment and philanthropy encapsulated in corporate social responsibility. We aim to set up one business at a time, taking most young people off the streets and criminality. And we can only do that by investing in our youths by providing them with modern-day skills required to navigate an increasingly challenging world.”

Apart from networking sessions, seminars on business performance rubrics, and exhibitions of products and services, youth will also be trained. Those interested will be trained in filmmaking and innovative tech skills at Delta State Tech Hub, as well as a talent hunt for music and others.

Obrike noted that Delfest, in collaboration with the Delta State Ministries of Trade & Youth Development, Arts and Tourism and the Office of the Governor, is also a discovery platform for young talents for hands-on training with industry experts. Over 450 youth from the state’s 25 local councils will be trained in innovative tech, music and film skills.

The festival’s business segment will feature six business seminar sessions on ways to grow businesses and make them profitable for venture capitalists.

Obrike explained that the Business Amplify Summit of the festival will help businesspeople excel and create more businesses in Delta State.

Some of the seminars include ‘Customer Service’ with Dr Maxwell Loko, ‘How to Sell in Nigeria’, ‘Leadership and Management Strategies’ with Dr Linus Okorie, ‘Business and the Law – Legality in Businesses’ with Rockson Igelige, ‘Business and Your Health’ and ‘Business and Technology – AI Phenomenon’ with Dr Koba.
