The new Kaduna police commissioner, CP Gyogon Augustine Grimah has assumed duty promising to operate an open-door policy.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Police spokesman, ASP Mansir Hassan, and made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Friday.
The statement declared that Grimah who resumed on 10th October 2024 took over from the Immediate past Commissioner of Police CP Audu Ali Dabigi psc, who retired from the force on 1st October 2024.
“The new Commissioner of Police hails from Nasarawa, he holds a BSc. Hons in Chemistry from ABU, Zaria & MPA. The vibrant young Augustine Grimah was enlisted into the Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (C/ASP) May 1992 and trained at Police Academy Annex, Kaduna.
It said, “From the completion of his training to the very moment of his deployment to Kaduna Command as the Commissioner of Police, he had served in several state commands and Police formations in various capacities among which include; Patrol & Guard (P&G) Ops, Enugu State Command, Unit Commander (U/C) in 27 PMF Katsina State, 2I/C Squadron Commander in 27 PMF Katsina State, Staff Officer, Federal Operations, Force Headquarters, Abuja, Divisional Police Officer (DPO) S/Gari Division, Katsina State, Investigator in Special Fraud Unit (SPU), FCID Abuja.
“At the strategic managerial cadre of the Force, he was, Commandant, Police Secondary School (PSS), Calabar, Commandant, Police Boys Secondary School (PBSS), Mani Katsina State, AC Department Training and Development, Katsina State Command, AC X-Squad FCID Abuja, AC SCID Plateau State Command, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC) Force Provost Marshall, FHQs Abuja, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC) Criminal Investigation Department Enugu State Command, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC) Department of Operations Ekiti State Command, Commissioner of Police, Information Communication Technology (ICT), FHQs Abuja, Commissioner of Police Cross River State Command from where he is posted as the 43rd Commissioner of Police Kaduna State Command.
The Commissioner of Police has vast knowledge and experience in Police Operations, Investigation, and Administration which he pledged to utilise in the administration of Kaduna State Command to subdue the various forms of criminality in the State.
On resumption of duty, “He has charged all Officers and men of the Command to be focused on their responsibilities of maintaining law and order without jettisoning professionalism, since the task of keeping Kaduna crime-free, just as that of his predecessor, remains paramount.
While the new Commissioner of Police is soliciting the support of all stakeholders in the discharge of his responsibility, he is not unmindful of the yearnings of the people of Kaduna State in terms of security; though multi-tasking, it is surmountable with a collective commitment.
He also promised to operate an open-door policy to all and sundry until success is achieved.
