The highly anticipated movie Mr & Mrs Parker, directed by Tokunbo Awoga and produced by Titilola Ajayi, is set to make waves in the Nigerian film industry.
The film, shot in Ikoyi, Lagos, features a stellar cast of renowned Nigerian actors, including Akin Lewis, Mide Martins, Kemity, Jimmy Rowland, and other actors.
In a bold move, the film also stars Nigerian music icon 9ice, marking a unique collaboration between the music and film industries. This decision, as explained by producer Titilola Ajayi, stemmed from a desire to break away from conventional casting practices and explore something fresh and exciting.
“I just wanted something more than the regular,” Ajayi said in a recent interview. “At times, when casting, you want to spread your wings and avoid being limited in your choices. This film serves as a reminder that not every bad deed has immediate consequences, and that we must be cautious of whom we trust.”
Ajayi also shared insights on bringing 9ice on board, noting that the process was smooth due to their long-standing friendship. “9ice is a big brother and a true lover of the arts, so it wasn’t difficult to get him to love his role in Mr & Mrs Parker. He was incredibly supportive and great with everyone on set.
Speaking further , she noted that 9ice was kind and accommodating, making the experience all the more enjoyable for the entire team.”
The movie will have its first premiere on November 15, 2024, at 201 Tooley Street, Tower Bridge, London, followed by a second premiere on December 6, 2024, at Chichi dishes and bars, 29-31, Hare Street, London. Both events are expected to draw significant attention from fans and critics alike.
With its intriguing plot and diverse cast, Mr & Mrs Parker promises to captivate audiences, offering a fresh perspective on trust, deceit, and the unpredictability of human relationships.
