The National Councilors Forum of Nigeria, Oyo State Chapter, has inaugurated its executive members.
Councilors from 351 wards across the 33 local government areas of the pace-setting state gathered at the Ibadan North-East Local Government Hall in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, to witness the maiden inauguration and presentation of certificates of appointment.
The Executive, led by Honourable Ayodeji Oladapo, includes Vice Chairman Honourable Fatai Olojede; Secretary Akinade David Adeyemo; PRO 1 Alhaji Adebayo AbdulKabir; Financial Secretary Osi Sunday Abiodun; Treasurer Olusola Ibitoye; and Welfare 1 Baraka Fakayode. Others are Organizing Secretary 1 Bimbo Oluwaseyi Adeyemi; Welfare 2 Olabanji Bashir Oloyede; PRO 2 Ojo Shuaib; Financial Secretary 2 Habib Alayande; Organizing Secretary 2 Oyeyinka Yusuf Ajala; Assistant Secretary 2 Sulaiman Azeez; and Auditor Kayode James.
Speaking with journalists, the Leader of the Legislative House in the Ibadan South-East Local Government Area and the new Chairman of the National Councilors Forum of Nigeria, Oyo State Chapter, Honourable Ayodeji Oladapo, expressed his readiness to build on the legacy of Governor Seyi Makinde and appealed for the approval of requests that would make the forum effective.

He added that if members of the forum follow the established procedures, it will ensure that the dividends of democracy reach the people at the grassroots level.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Association of Local Government Chairmen in Oyo State, Honourable Sikiru Sanda, charged members of the forum to establish good and harmonious relationships with their various local government chairmen and other stakeholders for the benefit of the people and the development of their localities.
While commending the cooperation of the forum for the inauguration, which he described as a laudable concept, Honourable Sanda assured them of the local government chairmen’s readiness to respond to yearnings that could bring development to the various local government areas.
The Egbeda Local Government Chairman, who revealed that work is ongoing tirelessly on furniture allowances for members of the forum and benefits for their betterment, announced a token of five hundred thousand naira from the Local Government Chairmen Association as financial support for the forum’s inauguration.
