

The Federal College of Education, Yola, has awarded the National Certificate in Education (NCE) to 15,139 graduates who successfully completed their course of study at the institution.
At its 15th combined convocation ceremony on Saturday, the institution also honored eleven distinguished individuals who have contributed to the growth of humanity and the college.

The 15th combined convocation, which coincided with the institution’s 50th anniversary and the hosting of the 20th edition of the Nigeria College of Education Games Association (NICEGA), was a milestone event for the school.
The Provost of the College, Mohammed Usman Degereji, highlighted the institution’s notable achievements since he assumed office as Chief Executive. According to him, FCE Yola has established a student hub for easy access to academic records, implemented free bus services, provided food palliatives, and rehabilitated the college clinic.
The Provost noted that the school has come a long way in producing qualified teachers for the ever-growing and expanding educational system.

He expressed gratitude to the federal and state governments, TETFUND, staff, and students for their support.
The Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, congratulated the FCE Yola community on their progress and pledged to support the college’s request for an upgrade.
Represented by the Director of Reforms, Coordinator, and Service Improvement in the Federal Ministry of Education, Dr. Yusuf Sadeed, the Minister reiterated the federal government’s commitment to enhancing education through initiatives like the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NEL FUND).
In his remarks at the occasion, the Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) stated that the commission is committed to ensuring that Colleges of Education produce highly qualified teachers equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to advance Nigeria’s education sector.
He added that the commission will continue to assess the performance of Colleges of Education through course accreditations and other measures to ensure they maintain high standards.
While congratulating the management and graduating students, he promised that the commission would continue to support institutions that comply with accreditation standards and promote innovative teacher education programs.
Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, represented by Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, commended the institution’s successes and reaffirmed the state’s commitment to improving education.
He outlined the state’s policies and reforms in the education sector, which include scholarship awards, school transportation, and infrastructure development.
