The chairman, Council of Elders, Environmental Health Officers Association of Nigeria (EHOAN), South-West zone, Professor Sunday Ojewale, has charged the newly-elected officers of the association to be up and doing towards the betterment and development of the association in the South-West zone.

Professor Ojewale gave the charge shortly after the swearing-in ceremony of the new officers at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the association held at Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology, Eleyele, Ibadan.

Ojewale, who chaired the meeting described the victory of the officers as a call to service, adding that their desire to serve in various positions is a testament of their commitment to make sacrifices and continue to promote the primary objectives of the association for the benefit of members and the generality of the people.

At the meeting, Ojewale commended the chairman of the electoral committee, Dr Samuel Akingbehin for the transparency and effectiveness with which the committee carried out its constitutional mandate by organising a hitch-free election.

“This election shall serve as a model not only for subsequent association elections but as a template that could be considered for the nation at large,” Ojewale said.

Earlier, President of the association, South-West zone, Dr. Tope Akinwumi, who was reelected for another three years restated his continuous efforts in transforming the association.

While congratulating other new officers, Akinwumi charged them to work hard with him so as to take the association to a greater height.

Akinwumi further enjoined all the environmental health officers in the zone to support the newly-elected executive for the growth of the association and its members, adding that payment of the monthly subscription to the purse of the association as and when due cannot be overemphasised.

“We cannot do it alone without your adequate support, I’m imploring you to collaborate with us in order to take our association to greater heights,” Akinwumi added.

The new officers are Dr. Isaac Tope Akinwumi (president); Ajewole Oludare Sunday (deputy president); Mrs Bankole Titilayo (secretary); Ogundare Idowu Ayodeji (treasurer) and Olayiwola Sheriff (financial secretary).

Others are Kabiru Adeola Oladejo (Public Relations Officer); Michael Adeleke (auditor); Adenle Isola Oluwasina (provost marshal); Famubode Temitope (assistant secretary) and Ogunsolu Saburi Ayinla (ex-officio).
