Former President Donald Trump won the November 5, 2024, United States (U.S.) presidential election after defeating Vice President Kamala Harris.
Trump, who will become the 47th president of the United States, outperformed his closest rival and Democratic candidate, Harris.
His strong performance in crucial battleground states like Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and, most recently, Wisconsin secured him the 270 Electoral College votes required for victory.
With these pivotal wins, Trump now has 277 Electoral College votes compared to Harris’s 224, surpassing predictions that had anticipated a closer race.
Following the confirmation that Trump will lead the United States again for a second term, many are curious about when the Republican will return to the White House.
As is tradition, Trump will be inaugurated as president and take office officially on Monday, January 20, 2025, following the customary transition period after the election.
Between now and January 20, 2025, President-elect Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance will collaborate with their transition team to coordinate the handover from President Biden’s administration.
