The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Progressive Youths in Bali Local Government Area of Taraba State on Monday called on Governor Agbu Kefas to disregard reports circulating against the State Commissioner for Cooperative and Poverty Alleviation, Hon. James Habu Philip.
The group clarified that the reports were the handiwork of mischief makers from Bali Local Government, allegedly sponsored by enemies of Governor Kefas’s administration. They stated that the reports had been confirmed as fake news.
In an open letter to Governor Kefas, signed by their president, Comrade Uten Dubagari, the Bali PDP Progressive Youths described the commissioner as a dedicated gentleman focused on ensuring the success and greatness of Governor Kefas’s administration.
The letter read:
“Dear His Excellency Dr Agbu Kefas, we, the PDP Progressive Youths of Bali Local Government, wish to counterattack an open letter by one Nuru Ahijo from Garba Chede, assassinating the character of your Commissioner for Cooperative and Poverty Alleviation, Hon. James Habu Philip.
“Nuru Ahijo is a political thug who is violent, lawless, and a bully.”
“He is being hired and used by a selfish, disgruntled politician to achieve certain aims in politics, subjecting the people of Bali Local Government to nepotism and neocolonialism.
“Nuru is not a member of the PDP. He is paid to discredit your administration by blackmailing the commissioner and destroying public confidence in your government.
“The political thug (Nuru) is paid by a selfish politician to spread false information, run negative campaigns, and criticize progressive individuals who are supporting the PDP government in attracting development to Bali and Taraba at large. He is being used by certain elements who want to claim political dominance over elders and stakeholders. These individuals claim to be members of the PDP, but deep down, they are not.
“Hon. James Habu is one responsible young man that every community would want to have as a representative. He is committed, trustworthy, and has never acted contrary to the decisions of elders and stakeholders.
“The commissioner has never been involved in any negative act. We urge you to disregard any report of such nature and consider it as mere blackmail against him. He is a mobiliser who is committed to service delivery.
“As progressive youths, we will always stand by the truth and defend it for the development of Bali Local Government. Hon. Habu has no questionable character in any way. He has no time to fight for self-political dominance. His focus is on service delivery for his ministry and creating a positive impact for the Bali community,” the progressive PDP youths submitted.
