Management of the University of Ilesa in Osun state, on Tuesday debunked the rumour going round the state that there is general increase in the tuition fees of the Institution for the current academic year.

The university spokesperson, Mr. Abimbola Tooki who described the claim in a statement in Osogbo, as falsehood, charged members of the public to disregard the rumour.

He, however, explained that, “The only adjustment made is a marginal increase in the Faculty of Nursing fees. There has been no general increase in tuition fees at the University of Ilesa for the current academic year. ”

“The only adjustment made is a marginal increase in the Faculty of Nursing fees. This decision was necessitated by the substantial financial investment required to provide state-of-the-art infrastructure and equipment to support the practical training needs of nursing students. For all other faculties, tuition fees remain unchanged”.

“However, there are slight adjustments in some incidental charges, such as examination fees and ICT-related costs. These changes are minimal and carefully structured to remain affordable for students and their families. They were introduced to address the rising operational costs caused by prevailing economic realities, including the significant increase in daily expenses required to maintain the university’s standard of excellence.”

“This approach reflects the university’s commitment to balancing quality education delivery with the economic challenges faced by students and parents”, he submitted.

The statement however re- affirmed that all the new students who were admitted into the Faculty of Education will enjoy free tuition fees as earlier announced by the management of the university.
