Aggrieved members of the Omowunmi-Abisogun Ruling House have settled their differences and backed the ascension of Oba Abdulwasiu Omogbolahan Lawal as the Oniru of Iruland, Victoria Island, Lagos.
They also resolved that all pending litigations against the monarch be withdrawn immediately, subject to the filing of terms of settlement in court.
The members, who stated this at a meeting at the weekend, also affirmed Alhaji Biliaminu Abisogun as their Head.
They urged other aggrieved members to shelve their grievances and work with Oba Lawal to bring peace to the family, Iruland and its environs.
Those at the meeting were Alhaja Afusat Kabiawu; Alhaja Nuratu Asake Shitta-Bey (nee Durosimi Ope); Prince Lasun Adele; Prince Tunde Kabiawu; Prince Tunde Alade Dauda, Alhaji Lateef Ope; Alhaji Yusuf Shitta-Bey; Alhaja Kikelomo Owodunni, Prince Olalekan Matti; Prince Lookman Shitta-Bey and Prince Obasanjo, stated the above during a press conference held on Friday also stated their family head is Alhaji Biliaminu Abisogun and others
Prince Lasun Alade, who spoke on the group’s behalf, said: “The Omowunmi-Abisogun Royal family of Iru Kingdom, hereby inform the family members, stakeholders and general public that the family has resolved in its general meeting held on Sunday 23rd January 2022, in Lagos as follows:
“That the family resolved that the entire family members should make peace with our Royal father His Royal Majesty Oba Abdulwasiu Omogbolahan Lawal Abisogun II, the Oniru of Iru Kingdom the 15th Oniru of Iru Kingdom and recognise his ascension or occupation of the exalted stool of Iru Kingdom.
“The family also resolved that all pending litigation against His Royal Majesty be withdrawn immediately subject to the filing of terms of settlement in court.
“We would like to put it on record that we have all resolved to contribute to the development of the Iru kingdom by collaborating with His Royal Majesty to achieve this objective.
“The family is not unmindful of the fact that there are still few members of the family who still feel aggrieved about the selection of his Royal Majesty. We, however, assure that we are still engaging them with a view to helping them see reason to join hands with his Royal Majesty for the progress and development of the Iru Kingdom.” Continue Reading
