The Honourable Akin Alabi, Federal House of Representatives member representing Egbeda/Ona Ara Federal Constituency of Oyo State and chairman of the House committee, has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to advancing education and fostering community development.

He stated this when he visited the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) headquarters in Ona Ara.

During the visit, the lawmaker engaged with members of the union, where he announced a donation of N1 million to support the union in completing their newly constructed NUT House.

In a statement released by his media aide, Hameed Mustapha Ramadan, the gesture was met with enthusiastic applause and heartfelt appreciation from union members.

Hon. Akin Alabi reaffirmed his dedication to implementing impactful projects for his constituency.

“Education is a cornerstone of sustainable development, and I remain focused on ensuring that Egbeda and Ona Ara continue to witness progress in this critical sector,” the statement read.

The NUT Chairman, Comrade Wale Azeez, warmly welcomed Hon. Alabi and commended his numerous contributions to the educational sector.

In his remarks, Comrade Azeez highlighted Hon. Akin Alabi as the highest officeholder representing the interests of Ona Ara and Egbeda Local Government Areas. He specifically praised Hon. Alabi for his efforts in facilitating the establishment of schools in Bioku, Ona Ara, as well as other recent developmental projects that have positively impacted education in the region.

“We are deeply grateful for the support Hon. Akin Alabi has given to the educational sector. His facilitation of schools in Bioku and other initiatives has greatly enhanced access to quality education in Ona Ara,” said Comrade Azeez.

In his response, Hon. Akin Alabi reassured the union of his commitment to fulfilling the promises made during his campaign.

“We are working to fulfil the promises made during our campaign. All my leaders from the All Progressives Congress (APC), who had earlier visited, made these commitments on my behalf,” he stated.

He further emphasized his dedication to serving his constituency, stating,
“I am not running away from constituency responsibilities.”

“As evidence of his commitment, Hon. Akin Alabi announced a donation of N1 million to support the union in completing their newly constructed NUT House. This gesture was met with enthusiastic applause and heartfelt appreciation from union members,” the statement added.

According to the statement, the visit highlighted Hon. Akin Alabi’s consistent engagement with key stakeholders in his constituency and his focus on delivering tangible results. The NUT leadership expressed their gratitude for his unwavering support and pledged to collaborate with him to achieve further advancements in the education sector.

Among the notable guests at the occasion were the APC Party Chairman, Prince Ogundipe Wasiu; the APC chieftain in Ona Ara, Hon. Akanni Ere; the Director-General of the Akin Alabi Campaign Organisation, Hon. Adebowale Amoo; Hon. Akin Alabi’s trusted lieutenant, Chief Ayo Lawal; Hon. Kehinde Adesina; Hon. Bayo Esuola; Party Secretary, Comr. Mumini; and the liaison officer to Oyo Central Senator, Alhaji Rafiu Akanmu, among others.

This visit reaffirms Hon. Akin Alabi’s dedication to the growth and development of Egbeda and Ona Ara, with education remaining a cornerstone of his developmental agenda.
