The security personnel attached to the office of the Deputy Governor in Yola foiled an armed robbery attempt at the office entrance.
The robbery attempt followed a vehicle belonging to the office of Deputy Governor Professor Kaletawpa George Faruta, which was transporting cash from a commercial bank.
According to a source close to the office, the vehicle was attacked by four men in a Toyota Corolla, who pursued it from Bank Road and attempted to block the vehicle near the Government House, firing at the security at the gate.
The source added that the robbers first attacked the vehicle on Gimba Road near the Hamman Yero printing press. Only the driver and a cashier from the Deputy Governor’s office were in the car.
