Founder of the Jehovah Eye Salvation Ministry, Prophet Godwin Ikuru, has disclosed his intention to contest the Lagos State Governorship election, come 2027, expressing the belief that his deep understanding of the state’s complexities and his extensive grassroots engagements made him uniquely qualified to seek the exalted seat.

Prophet Ikuru, who has spent decades in religious service and philanthropy and has resided in the state for over 27 years, made this known on Tuesday in a release, a copy of which was made available to newsmen, promising to run on a platform of inclusivity, transparency, and development if finally elected as next governor of the state.

Ikuru, while noting that his philanthropic efforts had earned him widespread respect, having consistently provided support to vulnerable communities, empowered youths, and championed causes aimed at improving lives across the state, highlighted his past political predictions, including the historic victory of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2023 elections.

According to him, his spiritual insights also supported the elections of several governors, including those in Niger, Nasarawa, Kogi, Lagos, Imo, Edo, and Delta states, saying that these accurate predictions and endorsements had succeeded in inspiring him to take a more active role in governance.

The man of God said it was not enough to foresee and support the right leaders, adding that now was the time for him to step forward and offer himself for service as, according to him, Lagos State deserves a leader with a heart for the people, a vision for progress, and the courage to make difficult decisions, which he promised to deliver.

Ikuru, while promising to run on a platform of inclusivity, transparency, and development, said that his proposed policies would be focused on addressing key challenges such as traffic congestion, housing deficits, youth unemployment, and healthcare.

He equally emphasised the importance of bridging the gap between the government and the people to foster trust and collaboration.

“It’s not enough to foresee and support the right leaders. Now, I believe it’s time for me to step forward and offer myself for service. Lagos State deserves a leader with a heart for the people, a vision for progress, and the courage to make difficult decisions. By God’s grace, I am ready to take on this responsibility,” he promised.
