Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State has directed the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abubakar Usman, to work out modalities that would ensure power supply is restored to Ibeto in the next six weeks.
The governor gave the directive during his visit to the palace of the district head of Ibeto, Muktar Hussaini.
He said his administration will not relent in ensuring that the basic amenities of life are provided to the people.
In a bid to encourage irrigation farming, the Governor instructed the Chairman of Niger Foods, Sammy Adigun, to work closely with the Ministries of Finance and Water Resources to ensure the completion of Auna Dam to boost dry-season farming in the area.
He also tasked the member representing Magama/Rijau Federal Constituency, the member representing Magama State Constituency, and the Chairman of Magama Local Government Council to collectively renovate the palace of the District Head.
The District Head of Ibeto, Muktar Hussaini; the Chairman of Magama Local Government Council Area, Safiyanu Yahaya; and the member representing Magama State Constituency, Abdulaziz Mohammed Nasco, in their separate remarks, commended the farmer governor for his impactful programs and policies. They pledged their continued support to the Bago-led administration.
Governor Umaru Bago also inspected the Central Mosque in Ibeto, which has been under construction for the past 12 years, and consequently made a personal donation of N100 million as a special fund. He pointed out that the special fund is open for those willing to make their donations for the speedy completion of the Central Mosque.
