The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the Ijesha North Federal Constituency occupied the party’s state office at Biket Area in Osogbo this morning to declare their unalloyed support for the administration of Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke. The well-attended press conference was held at the party office, where leaders and loyalists from all 22 wards in the constituency highlighted the positive impact of Governor Adeleke’s administration.
In a rousing show of unity, the party faithful hailed the governor for his transformative works across the region. Chairman of the Governing Council of Osun State College of Education, Esa Oke, and a prominent party leader from Obokun Local Government (LG), Hon. Diran Odeyemi, expressed gratitude for the impressive appointments made by the governor, a historic feat for Ijesha North.
“I want to sincerely thank Mr. Governor for his outstanding performance not just in Osun State, but particularly in Ijesha North,” Odeyemi stated. “It has never happened before that a governor would prioritize our people in such a manner.”
Odeyemi highlighted substantial improvements in the health and education sectors, noting that in just two years, 13 maternity and primary health centres have been upgraded and 14 schools have received vital infrastructure support, including motorized deep wells and new classroom blocks.
The Commissioner for Cooperatives and Empowerment Hon. (Prince) Bayo Ogungbangbe (fcssm), from Iloko Ijesha in Oriade LG, commended the governor’s achievements, emphasizing the importance of maintaining focus amid distractions from those with personal agendas. “The people of Ijesha North stand firmly behind the governor. Let him continue his good works without being swayed by naysayers,” he affirmed.
Echoing this sentiment, the Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Mayowa Adejoorin, from Obokun LG, reaffirmed the unwavering support of the constituency. “We will speak with our votes in favour of Governor Adeleke come 2026,” he pledged.
Hon. Adewumi Adeyemi Irekandu, representing Obokun State Constituency, praised the notable transformations witnessed under Adeleke’s administration and announced forthcoming projects set to benefit the constituency as part of the 2025 Appropriation Bill.
The State Public Relations Officer of the PDP, also from Oriade LG, remarked that the achievements of Governor Adeleke are evident to everyone except a few “unscrupulous elements” who refuse to acknowledge progress in the state.
Responding to recent criticisms from Hon. Wole Oke, a long-serving parliamentarian who publicly criticized the governor’s performance on social media, State Chairman Hon. Sunday Bisi emphasized the importance of internal party communication. “As a leader, Hon. Oke should be aware of the proper channels to highlight concerns to the governor rather than airing them publicly,” Bisi remarked.
Bisi affirmed that while Governor Adeleke has an automatic return ticket for the 2026 gubernatorial elections, all other elective positions within the party remain open for aspiring candidates to contest. He urged adherence to party guidelines and cohesion among members.
He concluded with a call for solidarity among party members, assuring that the dividends of democracy will gradually reach all corners of the constituency, as he thanked the people of Ijesha North for their continued support of the PDP.
The event marked a significant display of loyalty and support for the administration of Governor Adeleke, setting a hopeful tone for the party’s future as they prepare for the upcoming electoral challenges.
