Nigerian rapper and fashion entrepreneur Zlatan Ibile has openly told his industry colleagues to stop mocking those wearing fake designers.
In a viral video, Zlatan expressed disapproval of fashion elitism within the industry, stating that mocking people for not affording original designer products is unkind and dismissive of their financial realities.
“People wey dey buy fake, make dem dey buy am until dey get money to buy original. “Person wey wear fake today, go wear original tomorrow,” Zlatan said, emphasizing that everyone deserves the freedom to express themselves regardless of their economic situation.

His comments come amid heated controversies involving notable fashion figures who have publicly called out celebrities for donning counterfeit apparel.
Recall that recently, fashion entrepreneur Rahman Jago criticized veteran singer Oritse Femi for allegedly wearing fake high-fashion outfits.
Similarly, Olayinka Ashogbon, the founder of the luxury brand Ashluxe, accused singer Lyta of sporting counterfeit versions of his designs.
