In an effort to ensure a hitch-free forthcoming Christmas and New Year celebrations, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Niger State Command has deployed 1,700 personnel across the state.
The State Commandant, Comdt. Abdullahi Adamu Kambra said the deployment was aimed at providing adequate security coverage before, during, and after the celebrations.
He emphasised that the deployment is also intended to protect critical national assets and infrastructure in the state.
In a statement issued by the spokesperson of the Command, DSC Abubakar M.R Muti and made available to Journalists on Thursday in Minna, stated that the Commandant while addressing the management staff, explained that the deployment was part of the Corps’ efforts to maintain law and order, protect lives and properties, and provide security at all meeting points.
The personnel will also conduct stop-and-search operations at exit points in Minna metropolis to ensure a successful celebration.
Commandant Kambra charged Officers and men to exhibit a high level of professionalism and work in collaboration with other security agencies in the state.
In addition, the Commandant called on the general public to assist in reporting any suspicious activity or movements to the NSCDC or any other security organisation, stressing that; “By working together, we can ensure a peaceful and joyous celebration for all”.
