The Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps, also known as KAI, recently conducted a raid in the Ikoyi and Victoria Island areas of Lagos, resulting in the arrest of 49 individuals involved in illicit activities.
This information was disclosed by the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, in a statement made on Tuesday.
The operation, carried out on Monday night, aimed to improve security and maintain order in these neighborhoods.

The commissioner reported that the patrols covered key areas, including Idowu Martins, Ozumba Mbadiwe, Akin Adesola, Samuel Manuwa, Muri Okunola, Ajose Adeogun, Lugard Avenue, and Macdonald Road, yielding significant results.
He emphasized that this operation highlights the government’s ongoing efforts to ensure that Lagos remains a safe and orderly city for its residents.
According to the statement: “Over the course of the night, the dedicated operatives of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC) patrol team covered key areas, including Idowu Martins, Ozumba Mbadiwe, Akin Adesola, Samuel Manuwa, Muri Okunola, Ajose Adeogun, Lugard Avenue, Macdonald Road, and others in Ikoyi and Victoria Island. The operation aimed to enhance security and maintain order across these neighborhoods.”
“In the course of the patrols, 49 miscreants and illegal street traders were apprehended, reinforcing our commitment to ensuring a safe and orderly environment for residents and businesses.”
