Trafficking: Kaduna ministry to support NAPTIP with N100,000 monthly

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) and the Kaduna State Ministry of Human Services and Social Development have strengthened their partnership through a commitment to enhance collaboration.

The Ministry of Human Services and Social Development in Kaduna State announced it will provide monthly financial support of ₦100,000 to the state office of NAPTIP as part of its efforts to improve the agency’s operations.

This announcement was made by the State Commissioner, Hajiya Rabi Salisu, during a visit from NAPTIP’s Director-General, Binta Lami Adamu, and her team.

While welcoming the Director-General and her team, Hajiya Salisu acknowledged NAPTIP’s important role as a government entity and a valued partner.

She emphasized NAPTIP’s critical function in referring cases to the Ministry and providing support for survivors of trafficking.

In her remarks, the Commissioner pledged a commitment of ₦100,000 in monthly support to NAPTIP’s Kaduna office.

She requested that NAPTIP enhance its monthly reporting system to enable the Ministry to effectively track the agency’s activities and strengthen their working relationship at all levels.

To further enhance collaboration, the Commissioner advised the Director-General to formally request the Governor’s support for appropriate office accommodation and inclusion in the state security council committee.

“This would facilitate rapid response team operations,” she said.

The Commissioner also announced budget provisions for repatriation, protection, and support services, expressing openness to further partnership on critical issues.

Earlier the DG, Hajiya Binta Lami Adamu remarked that the primary objective of the visit was to strengthen the existing relationship between the Ministry and NAPTIP.
