Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, declared that he was impressed with the level of work at the judges’ quarters and the access roads to the quarters, assuring that the project will be inaugurated in May next year.

While inspecting the projects on Monday, Wike started from the interchange connecting Ring Road 1 and N16 (Nnamdi Azikiwe Road and Shehu Shagari Way) in Katampe District, connecting Ahmadu Bello Way.

He proceeded to the major culvert under construction and the piling of swamps surrounding the area along the access road.

He then visited the ongoing construction of judges’ and justices’ quarters at Katampe District. The 40 units of four-bedroom apartments are simultaneously near completion in terms of block work.

Speaking with pressmen after the inspection, Wike noted: “You can attest to the fact that the job is moving fast. I am very much impressed.

“The progress of work on the access road to the judges’ and justices’ quarters is amazing; we are happy. With this level of work, by May next year, the job will be ready and handed over.

“With the access roads, land and property here will add value. I am very impressed, I thank Mr. President for giving me the opportunity to serve.”

Wike also appealed to members of the Gishiri community to cooperate with the government to provide the road infrastructure, as they will be the major beneficiaries. He said the project, when completed, will provide street lights and other facilities in the community.

In Gishiri community, the road construction will affect part of a primary school, the chief’s palace, as well as some buildings.

Wike assured that all the owners of houses affected by the road construction would be paid compensation, while he has given a directive to take an assessment of the chief’s palace for possible replacement.

He made it clear that only affected houses would be compensated and not the entire community.
