From there, Oba Ajimoko III will journey to Ibokun and head to the Obaloro House, where he will observe mandatory traditional rites. He will spend the night at Obaloro House, as significant ascension rites, rooted deeply in Ijesa tradition, are performed predominantly at night a testament to the oriki of the Ijesa people, “Omo Oloro Ajinjin (Aajin)”.

Early Wednesday morning, Kabiyesi will depart Ibokun at 5 a.m. for Lemod House to continue the rites.

Preparations for these sacred events have been meticulous, with concerted efforts to ensure seamless activities across key traditional locations, including Obaloro, Lemodu, Bajimo, and Ogboni Ilesa. Addressing Ijesa sons and daughters worldwide, Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup emphasized the need for collective support in prayers and goodwill as these significant traditional rites unfold.

“All Ijesa sons and daughters must unite to preserve our sacred heritage, which connects us to our past and must be protected from abuse or desecration,” Kabiyesi said.

The traditional rites signify not only the continuity of the Ijesa culture but also a commitment to ensuring that the land remains peaceful and prosperous for generations to come.
