Bauchi State First Lady, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed, has distributed teaching and learning support materials to selected schools in Bauchi in collaboration with Al-Muhibba Foundation and MTN Nigeria Foundation.

The First Lady was represented at the distribution ceremony held at the Jubril Aminu Model School for Gifted Children by the Commissioner for Education, Dr Mohammed Lawal Rimin Zayam

The event underscored the importance of public-private partnerships in strengthening the education sector to achieve standard and qualitative education.

The first lady emphasised the crucial role of collaboration in addressing educational challenges and enhancing learning outcomes across the state and commended the MTN Foundation for the gesture which she said will go a long way to complement what the State Government is doing in the education sector.

She stated, “This effort is a giant effort made by MTN and Al-Muhibbah Foundation to the education of our dear children. This indeed is what we have been looking for and at this point, we have gotten what we are looking for.”

“To MTN, we thank you for this giant effort you have made and we assure you of our continuous support on our part in the ministry. We also look forward to many such collaborations with other donor partners because it is said that the government alone cannot handle the issue of education.

“When there are able hands out there to compliment the efforts of government, we will write our names in gold.”

Speaking earlier, the Senior Manager, Regional Operations, North-West, Ohwofasa Obazenu stated, “The learning support materials were distributed to all students in J.S.S 1.

“The material comprises of customised MTN bag with 10 exercise books (5 number of 60 leaves books and 5 number of 80 leaves books). 20 numbers of MTN customised umbrellas were handed over to the Principals for onward distribution to the teachers of Junior Secondary Schools.

According to him, “Today, we gather for an initiative that contributes to our mission of enhancing education. At MTN Nigeria Foundation, we believe that education is the cornerstone of growth and development, and every student deserves access to the resources necessary to unlock their full potential.

“We are happy to present the MTNF Learning Support Material Initiative (LSMI), a program designed to empower students with essential academic tools.

“Our commitment is to foster an enabling environment for learning and support access to quality education.

“To our students: these materials are more than just supplies to support your studies; they are stepping stones toward your aspirations.

“Their true impact depends on how you choose to use them. Strive for excellence, and let your dedication, discipline and focus shape your learning journey.

“To the school administration: your role in nurturing the leaders of tomorrow is invaluable. We deeply appreciate your commitment and hard work.

“I now officially hand over these learning materials to the school and its students and hope they will enhance your learning experience.

“I would also like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Her Excellency for this collaboration, the Principal, the management team, and all stakeholders for your unwavering support and dedication to educational excellence.

“Bauchi state will remain a focus in our future initiatives, as we collaborate to drive growth and development for more positive impacts. I wish you all great success in your academic and professional pursuits.”

In his vote of thanks, principal of the school expressed joy and happiness for the gesture which he said would improve the quality of teaching and learning in the school.

The principal assured the MTN Foundation and the First Lady that the materials would be judiciously used by the students as required.

Some of the students expressed their happiness over the development saying that it will improve their learning skills and knowledge of the subjects.

Al-Muhibba Foundation, a well-known humanitarian organization founded by the First Lady, has been at the forefront of promoting education and providing life support to children and the less privileged.

Through this initiative, the foundation continues to demonstrate its commitment to improving access to quality education in Bauchi State.
