As part of his administration’s commitment to education, Sokoto State Governor, Ahmad Aliyu, has approved the free registration of JAMB/UTME and Direct Entry (DE) for underprivileged students in the state for the 2025/2026 academic session.

This initiative, which falls under the governor’s 9-point agenda, aims to support qualified but financially challenged students by covering the cost of registration forms.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Commissioner for Higher Education, Professor Isa Muhammad Maishanu, emphasised the governor’s recognition of the financial burden many families face. In light of this, he has also approved the payment of online registration fees for all beneficiaries.

“This initiative is aimed at helping indigent students gain admission into universities and other tertiary institutions across the country,” Professor Maishanu stated.

The free JAMB registration PINs will be distributed at the 23 Local Government Secretariats across Sokoto State.

According to him,”Eligible students are required to visit their respective secretariats to collect and complete the necessary registration forms. The State Ministry for Higher Education will oversee the distribution process to ensure fairness and efficiency.

“To participate, candidates must generate a Profile Code by texting: NIN (space) followed by their 11-digit National Identification Number (NIN) to 55019.

“Only students who meet the academic requirement of at least five credits, including Mathematics and English, will qualify for the program.

“The Ministry encourages all beneficiaries to make the most of this opportunity by studying diligently to succeed in their examinations.”
