
Niger State Police Command has arrested 19 suspects in connection with thuggery, phone snatching, and illicit drug abuse in Minna and its environs.
The suspects were arrested during a sting operation led by the Area Commander Minna, ACP Aliyu A. Rabah.

The Police Public Relations Officer PPRO Niger State Police Command SP Wasiu Abiodun stated this in a Press statement issued and made available to Journalists on Monday in Minna the state capital.
He highlighted that areas stormed by the Police operatives on February 2nd, 2025, at about 10:00am, included the New-market/PZ area, Sauka-Kahuta, Soje, and Kpakungu areas of Minna, adding that in the course of the operation, nineteen suspects were arrested.
The statement noted that among the suspects arrested by the Police Operatives were one Abdulsalam Ibrahim 25yrs of Newmarket, one Muhammed Saleh 25yrs of Newmarket, Abba Salihu 22yrs of Newmarket, Aminu Musa 23yrs of Newmarket, Isyaku Abdullahi 18yrs of Newmarket, Abdulrahman Isah of N/market
-Salim Abubakar 25yrs of Newmarket, and
Sagir Tukur 28yrs of New market .
Others include Gadafi Isyaku 25yrs of Saiko, Salihu Aminu 23yrs of Saiko, and Sani Abdullahi 18yrs of Saiko, including Abdulwaheed Abdullahi 22yrs of Maitumbi, Abdullahi Yahaya 28yrs of Texaco, DanAbba Abubakar 27yrs of Saikaka/Kahuta, Haruna Mohammed 29yrs of S/Kahuta, and Abdulbasit Ibrahim 18yrs of S/Kahuta.
The statement stated further that one Sadiq Idris 19yrs of Kpakungu, and Ibrahim Adamu 15yrs of Kpakungu, as well as one Umar Usman 19yrs of Soje B, were also arrested by the Police Operatives in the State Police Command.
SP Wasiu Abiodun stressed the suspects were said to have been arrested with dangerous weapons and other exhibits, which include: One Axe, Two cutlasses, Four knives, One iron rod, Assorted charms, and Substances suspected to be Cannabis festivals.
He, however, assured that all the suspects were under investigation in SCID Minna, stressing that they would be arraigned in court very soon for prosecution as soon as the investigation into their cases was concluded by the Police investigators.
