Speaking shortly after the donation, Hon. Chief Obiora Williams, who represented the benefactor, said the gesture was the fulfillment of Prof. Okonkwo’s pledge to equip the party’s new state secretariat in Awka.
The donated office items include an SP I5 soundproof Mikano generator set, six Polystar air conditioners, a public address system, and four industrial fans ahead of the governorship election.

According to him, during a recent facility tour of the secretariat, Prof. Okonkwo, accompanied by APC State Chairman Sir Basil Ejidike and members of the State Working Committee, assessed the infrastructural needs of the party’s headquarters. Upon noting urgent requirements, he pledged to provide essential facilities to boost efficiency.
“Today, that promise has been fulfilled,” Williams stated.
In addition, Prof. Okonkwo has also redeemed his N20 million pledge to fund party projects and operational costs, further strengthening the APC’s capacity in Anambra State.
“This is a demonstration of Prof. Okonkwo’s commitment and loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nigeria. He should be given the opportunity to fly the party’s ticket in the governorship contest,” Williams canvassed.
In his brief acceptance speech, the state chairman of the party, Chief Basil Ejidike, commended Prof. Obiora Okonkwo for keeping his word by redeeming the pledge he made to the party.
He urged other well-to-do party faithful to emulate Okonkwo’s generosity to help move the party in the state to the next level.
