His Royal Majesty, Alayeluwa Oba Adeola Adekinle (Ajagungbade Okunola II), the esteemed Awara of Iwara Kingdom in Atakumosa East Local Government Area of Osun State, today paid royal homage to His Imperial Majesty, Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, the Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland, Ajimoko III.

The historic visit underscored the deep-rooted ties between the two royal houses, as the Awara of Iwara, regarded as the eldest son of the Owa Obokun, led a distinguished entourage comprising High Chiefs, youth leaders, and other notable personalities to the Owa Obokun’s seclusion palace in Ilesa. The visit was a symbol of respect, unity, and the enduring bond between their kingdoms.

In his address, Awara Adeola Adekinle reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty and commitment to the leadership of Owa Obokun, pledging his continuous support for the growth and development of Ijesaland. He commended Oba Haastrup for his visionary leadership, which has fostering remarkable progress and unity in the region.

In response, the Owa Obokun expressed deep appreciation for the visit, acknowledging the historical ties and longstanding cordial relationship between the people of Iwara and Owa Obokun stool. He emphasized the importance of unity among traditional rulers in advancing the collective interests of Ijesaland.

Oba Haastrup lauded the Awara of Iwara for his dedication to preserving the cultural heritage and traditions of his people, noting that his leadership continues to bring honor and prestige to Iwara Kingdom. He further stressed the need for collaboration among royal institutions to ensure peace, progress, and sustainable development across Ijesaland.

The Owa Obokun also used the occasion to pray for continued prosperity for the people of Iwara, both at home and in the diaspora. He expressed confidence that the positive transformations being witnessed across Ijesaland would extend to Iwara Kingdom, bringing even greater opportunities and advancements to the community.

The visit, marked by moments of camaraderie, further strengthened the bond between the two royal stools. It reaffirmed the commitment of both monarchs to preserving the rich traditions and heritage of Ijesaland while fostering peace and development.

Dignitaries, chiefs, and well-wishers who accompanied the Awara of Iwara include High Chief Rueben Ogunleye (Aro of Iwara), Chief Obisesan (Lomo-Ofe of Iwara), Chief Sunday Jegede (Oyefin of Iwara), Chief Sogo Omoniyi (Looyin of Iwara), Mr Taiwo and Kehinde Jegede representing Iwara youths, others include Hon. Idowu Adewale, SSA to the State Governor, Mr Bukola Olayemi, Iyaloja of Iwara amongst others. They described the visit as a significant step toward reinforcing unity and collaboration among the traditional institutions in Ijesaland. They praised the strong leadership of both monarchs in maintaining harmony and progress in the region.
