
The Executive Chairman of Oriade Local Government, Osun State, Hon. Obeisun Olubunmi Ezekiel, has paid a condolence visit to the people of Ikeji-Ile following the demise of their traditional ruler, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adebayo Ayegbo Ogunmokun. The revered monarch joined his ancestors on March 9, 2025.
Hon. Obeisun, accompanied by members of his council, was warmly received by Olori Ogunmokun, community elders, and notable figures including Hon. Gbenga Ajewole Odofin of Ikeji-Ile, High Chief Olowolayemo Titus Saba, High Chief Akuruyejo Moses Ajemu, High Chief Ayeni Yeye Lemo, Yeyedofin, Yeye Saba, and Mr. Agbemeyede, the community secretary. The community appreciated the presence of the Oriade Local Government delegation, recognizing the visit as a mark of respect for the late monarch.

In his condolence message, Hon. Obeisun sympathized with the people of Ikeji-Ile, both at home and in the diaspora, as well as the Oriade Council of Obas, Ijesa North Council of Obas, and Osun State Council of Obas, over the loss of a respected and humble traditional ruler. He prayed for divine strength for the bereaved family, the town, and all institutions the monarch was associated with.
The council chairman urged the community to remain strong, emphasizing that the passing of the king should not be a recurring misfortune. He prayed that the town, the royal family, and the entire Oriade and Osun State traditional institutions would not experience such a loss again soon.
In the same vein, Hon. Obeisun and his team paid a courtesy visit to the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership in the community to commiserate with them over the monarch’s passing. The visit was led by Hon. Gbenga Ajewole, Oriade APC Chairman and a key stakeholder in Ikeji-Ile.
During the visit, the APC chairman expressed gratitude to the Oriade Council leadership for their support. He acknowledged the chairman’s commitment to fostering unity and commended the councillors for their dedication to their respective wards.
Hon. Oluwatayo also encouraged all councillors to be good ambassadors of their communities and urged Hon. Obeisun to continue serving as a role model for council members under his leadership.
Hon. Obeisun reaffirmed his dedication to peace, development, and unity in Oriade Local Government. He assured the community and the APC leadership that his administration remains committed to upholding the legacy of Oba Ogunmokun and supporting the town through this period of mourning.
The visit ended with prayers for the peaceful repose of the departed monarch’s soul and for the continued prosperity of Ikeji-Ile.
