…..Canvasses for Sanwo-Olu, Hamzat Re-Election.
Nationnewslead reports that Asiwaju Unity Forum (AUF), has concluded plans to float a one million-man march for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presidential bid and his vice, Senator Kashim Shetima.
The forum is also solidly backing the re-election of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and Dr. Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat, his deputy comes 2023 Nationnewslead learnt.

who disclosed this during a press briefing that saw about 500 members in attendance said AUF was formed early last year mainly to garner support for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the forthcoming 2023 general election.
Hon. Adebayo explained that the one million man match is necessary to let Nigerians know that the People of Lagos State are solidly with the All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Tinubu, and to also checkmate some youths that are planning another End-Sars in the Lekki axis scheduled for October 1 this year, we are going to kick start the one million match from Law School to Lekki toll gate and back to Falomo Bridge before we all despatch to our various homes.
Hon. Adebayo recalled that when End-Sars started last year we all supported them because some of those things they were demanding are right but we need to be guided that most of their agitation was not caused by this administration. We have been living with most of what they are asking for, we supported that police brutality must stop and that police officer should be properly mobilized and well remunerated, the government considered most of their requests and in fact, some have even been implemented by the Lagos State government, yet some overbearing youths take to the streets and started burning our commonwealths such as BRT buses, police stations, Court and even the Lekki toll gate was not left out, stores were been looted, and all this must not be allowed to happen again. Never again will we fold our arms and watch a few overbearing youth wreck monumental havoc on our dear Lagos.
He said if they want to protest they should go to Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), they cannot continue to make Lagos state ungovernable or unsafe for her residents and citizens, this is what we have decided to kick against he added.
Analyzing the achievement of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Hon. Adebayo said he has performed excellently in the affairs of Lagos, he started as a senator in the third republic, they were ousted by the military, and he became a major financier of NADECO during the struggle to return the country to democratic rule.
He was exiled, but he came back when democracy returned to Nigeria, contested on the platform of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) in 1999, and won the governorship election in Lagos.
Lagos then was in a very messy situation, labeled as the dirtiest state in Africa, ASIWAJU turned it around for the best, he brought governance nearer to the people.
when Lagos state was not receiving any allocation from the federal government, he created more than 37 LCDA together with the statutory 20 Local governments, he was able to raise the internally generated monthly revenue of Lagos from 600million to 5 billion monthly which is about 52 billion presently, he created a lot of agencies such as LAWMA, LASTMA and so on, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu also initiated BRT and construction of BRT lanes, He introduced JIGI Bola, He made NECO free for all students regardless of ethnic background or religion.
Tinubu remains the only governor that gave a level playing ground to everybody irrespective of tribe or religion, his trademark is excellence, he goes for the best, and he always put the round pegs in the round holes.
On the complaint by some quarters on the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the APC presidential candidate, Hon. Adebayo who reiterated that he has written an article on this ugly trend in our Political space said religion should go back to where it belongs, it belongs to the hearts of people, and religion should be taken to the worship centers. What we should be discussing now is to critically analyze all the presidential candidates to know who can provide Jobs for everyone, improve the security architecture of the country, and Improve our education sector and most importantly a president that can ensure Nigerians are self-sufficient in food production.
The primary objective of a political party is to win the election, so I don’t want us to dwell much on the issue of religious politics. Asiwaju Tinubu himself is not an all-around Muslim person because his wife is a Senior pastor at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, if he has not Islamized his wife and family, he will not Islamize Nigeria, he is ready to work for everybody and with everybody.
Hon Taoheed Adebayo Taiwo also gave a pass mark to Gov. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and his deputy Dr. Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat for their efforts in piloting the affairs of Lagos state to a higher and enviable height.
In His remarks he opined that considering the times and natural occurrences that took over the world and Lagos in particular, the governor and his team have piloted the affairs of Lagos brilliantly.
Among his unequalled feat is his interventions during the Covid-19 era, Gov. SANWO-OLU’s efforts to curtail the spread of this deadly virus saved Nigeria and Lagos from what could have become a national disaster. As if that was not enough, the issue of End-Sars raised its ugly head, the Governor was able to handle all this with a great sense of responsibility. Some other achievement of Babajide Sanwo-Olu is the blue line project that is almost completed and to is handed over to Lagosians soon, all these are legacy projects. On Education, he has done well, Lagos state is the only state in NIGERIA where all her universities are in session, the ASUU strike has nothing on them which means the state government is doing something right.
The newly-constructed Schools in Lagos were also furnished with sporting facilities, showing that Sanwo-Olu intends to drive the potentials of young Lagosians to the maximum, squeezing out every gift they have for formal (classroom) learning and extracurricular activities… he is matching Technology and Education together, He has commissioned a lot of Roads, bridges, and so on. in the health sector he has performed well too he deserves to be re-elected so that all the good work he started will be completed.
