Commissioner of Police in Enugu, Ahmed Ammani, has ordered the investigation of an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).
The ASP serving at the Awgu Police Division is accused of sexually assaulting a teenager in custody.
Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe issued a statement on Saturday.
Ammani ordered the Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department to conduct a thorough investigation.
The CP said the alleged sexual assault took place on March 18, 2022, but the family of the 17-year-old detainee brought it up recently.
The commissioner directed that the investigation be concluded within the shortest possible time, Ndukwe added.
Ammani assured that the ASP or any other person or persons found culpable would face the law. Continue Reading
