President Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed Ivan Kholostenko as Ukraine’s ambassador to Nigeria.
This was disclosed in a statement by the the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, while the decree to that effect has been published on the website of the head of state.
The statement read, “On December 22-26, a conference of ambassadors of Ukraine ‘War and New Horizons in the World’ is being held. As part of this event, in particular, the appointment and approval of candidacies of ambassadors by the President of Ukraine are traditionally held.

“In addition to the appointments of ambassadors of Ukraine published on February 23 in Latvia, Bulgaria, Peru and Bahrain today, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Yuriy Klymenko and Ivan Kholostenko as Ambassadors to Argentina and Nigeria,” the ministry’s website said in the statement.
The Ukraine president appointed Kholostenko as the country’s ambassador to Nigeria in accordance with Decree No. 889/2022.
Zelensky earlier said that next year, Ukraine plans to open new embassies in ten African countries and a Ukraine-Africa trade house with representative offices in the capitals of the most promising countries on the African continent.
