In a decisive move, the Senate of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, has directed the immediate resumption of full academic activities within the university.
This directive comes after an emergency meeting held on Friday, September 28, during which the Senate reviewed its earlier decision to suspend academic activities.
The suspension was initially put in place due to protests against an alleged increase in tuition fees, which had resulted in the closure of the campus gate.
The decision to suspend academic activities was made to prevent any potential breakdown of law and order on the campus. However, in light of the latest developments, the Senate has acted swiftly to restore normalcy.
As part of its resolutions at the emergency meeting, the Senate has approved a revised academic calendar for the 2022/2023 academic session.
Consequently, students have been instructed to return to their respective halls of residence on Sunday, October 1, 2023. Lectures are scheduled to commence on Tuesday, October 3, 2023.
The University’s Acting Registrar, Ambrose Odiase, issued a statement urging all returning students to abide by the law and conduct themselves responsibly upon their return to the campus.
