The Customs Zonal Coordinator for Zone “B,” Assistant Comptroller General of Customs (ACG) Sambo Dangaladima, has urged officers in the zone to uphold the goals and vision of the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adeniyi, in their duties.

Dangaladima made this statement during a working visit to the Sokoto/Zamfara Area Command on Friday.

He held a session with the officers and personnel of the command, advising them to embody the service’s motto of justice and honesty within their areas of responsibility.

Additionally, he conducted an interactive session with Customs stakeholders, including leaders of Customs licensed agents, the Car Dealers Association of Nigeria (Sokoto chapter), and the National Association of Onion Producers, Processors, and Marketers of Nigeria.

The purpose of this meeting was to foster a more effective and efficient system for trade facilitation.

In his remarks, the ACG briefed the stakeholders on the tireless efforts the service, under the leadership of Comptroller General Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, is undertaking to ensure smooth trade facilitation in accordance with global best practices.

Some of the facilitation efforts highlighted by the ACG include the deployment of trade facilitation tools such as the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) program, Time Release Studies (TRS), and Advance Ruling (AR), all designed to strengthen international trade. He also encouraged stakeholders to comply with existing Customs laws.

Furthermore, the Sokoto/Zamfara Area Controller, Comptroller Kamal Mohammed, praised the ACG’s unwavering commitment to excellence and his continued support for the Command, which he noted has inspired the officers and personnel in the Zone.
Comptroller Kamal further stated that “Zone B covers the largest landmass among all four zones in the service, making comprehensive oversight a significant undertaking, for a decade due to the challenges posed by this expanse.

He said no ACG has been able to complete a full tour of all the Commands in the Zone, “yet today; in defiance of these obstacles and security challenges, ACG SK Dangaladima has demonstrated his commitment to a firsthand and thorough assessment of each Command.”

The Comptroller encouraged stakeholders to bring forward their observation suggestions, challenges and recommendation, further stating that the ACG is a deeply committed leader who will relay their feedback to Comptroller General of Customs.

Also speaking, the Chairman Sokoto Association of Customs License Agent, Alhaji Aminu Dan’iya eulogized the ACG for organizing such an engagement which is one of its kind in the last 10 years.

He assured the ACG that his members will continue to be law abiding and compliant stakeholders.

ACG Dangaladima also hand a session with officers and men of the command where he advise them to be embodiment of the service moto which is justice and honesty in their area of responsibility.
