With just five days to Adamawa state Local government elections, the Chairman of the Commission, Mohammed Umar says the commission is fully ready to conduct the election.
Alhaji Mohammed Umar stated this today Tuesday while briefing journalists on the state preparedness of ASIEC in the forthcoming July 13th Local government elections across the state.
“As l speak with you now, we have successfully screened and cleared 60 candidates for chairmanship positions and all the Councilors presented by the various political parties “.
“12 political parties will be taking part in the election and voting is expected to take place in 1404 polling units across the state”.

According to the ASIEC boss, “The voter’s registration carried out by INEC in 2022 will be used in this election and by the registration carried out in Adamawa state was over one million voters.
Meanwhile, two main leading opposition parties in the state, All Progressive Congress (APC) and Social Democracy Party (SDP), have declined participation in the election.
As it stands now only 12 political parties out of the 19 registered parties in Adamawa state will be participating in the forthcoming LGA elections
Umar also disclosed that the Commission has dispatched non-sensitive materials to all local government areas while the sensitive materials will be distributed on Thursday and Friday.
We have trained three ad-hoc staff in all the 1404 wards in the state.
